125 mg NAD (β-Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form, CAS 53-84-9) - No returns!

We strongly recommend our blog post on NAD infusions.

The vial is prepared by an authorised pharmacy only after an order is placed; the standard delivery time is therefore two to three weeks. We therefore recommend ordering this product separately, as all items in an order are shipped together, including for environmental reasons.

1 vial of Ampuwa lyophilisate for reconstitution to 10 ml. Before use, it must be reconstituted (i.e., dissolved) with a solvent (e.g., sterile water).

Minimum shelf life: When stored correctly at 2–8°C and protected from light, all infusion products we distribute remain stable for at least six months from the date of sale without loss of quality .

For outside temperatures above 18 °C, refrigerated shipping is recommended. Click the link to add it to your order.

Restrictions for customers in Germany:

In Germany, this product may legally be supplied only to research institutions, pharmacies, laboratories, clinics, physicians, non-medical practitionersand other professionals. Participants in the NAD+ study planned by the AFEGA Research Groupare exempt from this restriction. If you are willing to participate in this study—participation consists only of completing an anonymous online questionnaire—we can supply this product to you.

*** Delivery to addresses outside the EU ***

If the delivery address is outside the EU, you bear the risk of any import problems in your country. Therefore, do not order without ensuring that you are allowed to import these infusions! For deliveries outside the EU, we ship exclusively by express because refrigeration is required. Please select the appropriate shipping option at checkout!

Advantages of lyophilized (freeze-dried) NAD+ powder compared to other forms

Stability and shelf life
Lyophilised NAD+ powder is particularly stable and has a longshelf life because of the freeze-drying process. The removal of water protects the sensitive molecule from degradation by hydrolysis or microbial contamination, which is a common problem in liquid solutions. This allows NAD+ powder to be stored for longer periods without significant loss of NAD+.

Purity and dosing accuracy
This lyophilised NAD+ is offered in pharmaceutical -grade or laboratory-grade quality. The powder can be dosed precisely and used flexibly for various applications (e.g., infusions, injections, cell culture). Compared to tablets or capsules, which often contain fillers and excipients, the powder offers a higher concentration of active ingredient and fewer impurities.

Flexibility in use
The powder can be reconstituted as needed, for example with sterile saline for infusions or other suitable solvents for research purposes. This allows the concentration and method of administration to be adjusted individually, which is not possible with premixed solutions or solid dosage forms.

Transport and storage
Lyophilized powder is lighter and more space-saving to transport than liquid preparations. It does not require a continuous cold chain as long as it is stored dry and protected from light, simplifying logistics and saving costs.

Lower risk of chemical degradation
In the dry state, NAD+ is significantly less susceptible to oxidation and other chemical degradation processes than in solution, ensuring quality until use.

******

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is an essential coenzyme found in every cell of the body and plays a central role in energy metabolism and cellular repair mechanisms. NAD+ levels in the body decrease with age, which is associated with a variety of age-related health problems. NAD+ infusions, where NAD+ is administered directly into the bloodstream, have gained popularity in recent years. The following outlines the current state of scientific research on the benefits and risks of this therapy.

Potential benefits of NAD+ infusions

1. Support for cellular metabolism and energy production
NAD+ plays a central role in energy metabolism, particularly in mitochondrial function ; mitochondriaare the cells’ “powerhouses”. Studies show that increasing NAD+ levels can improve mitochondrial function and promote cell health. (Verdin et al., Cell Metabolism, 2015)

2. DNA repair and cellular stress response
NAD+ activates sirtuins and PARPs (poly-ADP-ribose polymerases), enzymes involved in DNA repair and the regulation of cellular stress. Higher NAD+ levels can therefore help reduce cell damage caused by aging and environmental factors. (Imai & Guarente, Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, 2014)

3. Neurological health
NAD+ is associated with neuronal function and the repair of neurological damage. Preliminary studies suggest that NAD+ infusions may be beneficial in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. (Braidy et al., Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2019)

4. Potential support in substance-use disorders
Some clinical reports suggest that NAD+ infusions may help alleviate withdrawal symptoms and stabilise brain chemistry in people with alcohol or drug dependence. (Ross et al., Journal of Substance Use, 2018)

5. Anti-aging effects
Lower NAD+ levels are associated with aging and chronic diseases. Animal studies show that increasing NAD+ levels can promote longevity. (Yoshino et al., Cell Metabolism, 2018)

Risks and side effects of NAD+ infusions

1. Insufficient long-term studies
Although NAD+ infusions have shown positive results in pilot studies, comprehensive long-term studies on safety and efficacy in humans are currently lacking.

2. Acute side effects
Some patients have reported symptoms such as nausea, headaches, hot flashes, and dizziness during or after NAD+ infusions. These side effects appear to be dose-dependent. (Bogan & Brenner, Annual Review of Nutrition, 2008)

3. Possible effects on metabolism
An increased NAD+ level could theoretically affect the balance of other metabolic pathways. This could be problematic especially for people with metabolic disorders such as diabetes or certain cancers.

4. Cost and accessibility
NAD+ infusions are expensive and are not currently included in established clinical guidelines. They may therefore be considered experimental therapy.

5. Infusion-related risks
As with any intravenous therapy, there is a small risk of infections, thrombosis, or allergic reactions.

Conclusion

NAD+ infusions show promise for supporting cellular health, particularly in age-related conditions and certain neurological and metabolic disorders. However, their use remains experimental.

Why are infusions so expensive?

Members of our research group use this powder to make infusions for their personal use. For us, this is acceptable because we are relying on our own judgement regarding purity and, in particular, the absence of microbial contamination. However, if you professionally offer NAD infusions, you have a special responsibility towards your patients/customers and therefore need a particularly high level of safety. Legally required, extensive documentation by manufacturers—in this case, a specially authorised pharmacy—is intended to provide this high level of assurance. These infusions are expensive not because the substance is purer or more effective, but because extensive documentation requirements —under which every batch must be fully traceable from NAD productionto the final product—are intended to assure a high level of purity.
